The gender of a baby is determined by the father's sperm....newtomee

According to the book called "Introduction to Maternity & Pediatric Nursing", The sex of human offspring determined at fertilization.  The ovum always contributed an X chromosome, whereas the sperm can carry X or Y chromosome.  When a sperm carrying the X chromosome fertilizes the X-bearing ovum (egg), a female child (XX) results.  When a Y-bearing sperm fertilizes the ovum, a male child is (XY) produced.  Thus, because sperm can carry either an X or Y chromosome, THE MALE PARTNER DETERMINES THE SEX OF A CHILD.
